The Client

A Japanese pharmaceutical company with revenues of over $11 Billion and over 17,000 employees worldwide.

The Brief

The client wanted to create an environment in their Dublin office that would help employees carry out their work effectively, productively and to create an environment that would promote safe and healthy working practices. The site consists of manufacturing and production facilities and multiple office spaces.

KOS’ experienced Ergonomic Consultants met with a number of key stakeholders involved in the project, both internal and external, to discuss the individual requirements of the users of each space. This was done in order to maximise the user experience, the functionality of the space and to make the most of the budget available. Each users’ requirements were analysed and interpreted, and recommendations were given at design phase to create spaces in different zones that best match their specific needs.

In one zone, several employees required larger working surface areas due to the nature of their daily tasks, in this instance L-shaped desks were provided with a return providing adequate additional space for them to work. All desks installed are also Sit Stand desks, which is in keeping with the client brief of safe and healthy working, promoting postural variation and reduced static working postures which can have a negative effect on employee health.

The client wanted a full loose furniture fit-out, consisting of all open plan sit-stand desking, ergonomic task chairs, seating, storage, meeting rooms, breakout furniture and accessories.

Some of our furniture range provided included our high quality Scandinavian Sit Stand desks in white and clever storage systems that double as seating from informal meetings Mobile pedestals and stylish storage credenzas.

The Program

The project was to be delivered in 4 weeks. The installation was carried out by KOS Workspace’s own internal installation team. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
